Anne initially conceived of the idea to start a jewelry-making business so she could work from home after the birth of her second child. The budget was tight, so she took $400 from savings, bought some basic materials and set up a bench in the basement and got to work.

Inspiration is derived from Anne's science and environmental background, including her fascination with gemstones and the colors and properties of various natural materials.  She also incorporates her love of creating color palettes inspired by clothing, textiles, visual art and more.

These interests naturally synthesize in Anne's designs, combining the colors of various gemstones, Czech glass, freshwater pearls and many other materials. She and her artisans focus on a few specific wire-working techniques to create the pieces, balancing the size and shape of the material and allowing the color combinations to be the emphasis.

Today, 11 years after it all started, the business has grown to a team of 12, including her husband who handles the marketing and logistics. In spite of all the challenges, they are still learning and loving it every day.
