Ornament developed from Claude Monet’s Arrival of the Normandy Train, Gare Saint-Lazare, 1877, from the Art Institute of Chicago’s collection.

An icon of modernity at the time, Claude Monet (French, 1840-1926) captured the grand locomotives and puffy clouds of steam at a busy Paris train station in his piece. Now, Patricia Breen adds her touch of artistry with a rendering on this remarkable Santa. Mouth-blown glass is hand-painted and hand-silvered in Krakow, Poland.
