Poster developed from Arlington Gregg’s The Art Institute of Chicago International Exhibition of Water Colors poster, from 1939. The original poster was published by the Works Progress Administration.

Held from March 23rd to May 14th, 1939, The Annual International Water Color Exhibition presented artworks and gave out prizes. The jury was comprised of Grant Wood, Joseph W. Jicha of Cleveland, and Hubert Ropp of Chicago.
