Snow Globe developed from Edward Kemeys’ Lion, 1893, from the Art Institute of Chicago’s collection.

For over 100 years, our stately lions, sculpted by Edward Kemeys (American, 1843–1907), have stood sentry at the museum's entrance.  This beautiful snow globe recreates the lion adorned with an evergreen holiday wreath with white snow.
